HOW TO GET A RECOMMENDATION LETTER FROM A KOREAN PROFESSOR

Firstly you have to find professors mails. Unfortunetly many Korean universities doesn’t have qualified english webpages so it can be hard to find. Try korean webpage with help of a Korean friend or translates. Generally you have to follow Academic à Graduate School à Your major 

This order can be different depends on the university. When you find professors, check their topics that they are giving class if its written in there and send to those who is matching with you or just send e-mails to all of them.

What you should write in e-mail:

Firstly, start with introducing yourself. Where are you from, what did you study and what else you’ve done about your study and your work experiences/internships. Then tell if you’ve done some social works or exchange student programs, how you start interest with Korea and how you learnt some Korean and how, tell them about your passion to study in Korea. Tell that you searched this uni and major and you would love to get education in there because of why. Show your passion to study in Korea. Like you’ve done in your Personal Statement in KGSP. Then attach your documents like; transcript, diploma, certificates, etc. Tell them about KGSP cuz some of them doesn’t even know this scholarship so, introduce it and tell why you need that scholarship so bad. Also ask them if they know any other scholarship that you can get. If you are science student ask about labs, if they can provide you some scholarship in return you work in lab or be assistant of them.

Lastly, tell how a recommendation letter can help you, why you need it, and ask them kindly if they willing to write one for you. After they write a recommendation letter the problem is how will you get it. Before I go to Korea and when I didn’t even know that I will go, I had same problem and I asked to Student Affairs of that uni, is it okay if professor just give to them. They said its better if I give all documents together since there are a lot of documents and papers, they can’t care all of them seperatly. So it means, that professor needs to send you the letter and you put it in your KGSP file. But just in case, still ask your Student Affair. Maybe they accept if professor just give to them.

*This recommendation letter is a plus document and different from the normal recommendation letter that you must get from your previous university! Don't include this to that 2 recommendation letter.  

**It's not a obligatory document, you don't need to get this one atleast you're not applying for doctoral degree (it's obligatory for them). It's just may help you for the 1st round in university track. It's not gonna have any help in embassy track. 

***It may not be helpfull at all like in my first try (read my kgsp post). Just it's your decision to try this way or not.
